Benefits of Permanent Makeup

Anyone who wears makeup everyday knows it takes more than a little time to get ready in the morning, and reapply in the day.  People who meet the minimum age requirement can benefit from the liberating benefits of permanent cosmetics. Interest spans the young to the more mature; those who desire a soft natural enhancement to their appearance. It is especially valuable to people who are visually challenged, or have dexterity related conditions such as arthritis; active people who want to look their best for sport activities such as swimming, biking, aerobics, and those who don’t want to worry about “sweating off” or reapplying cosmetics, just busy people who don’t have time to spend applying and refreshing makeup throughout the day and evening. Permanent Cosmetics holds the promise you’ll work all night, and wake up in the morning with makeup in place.

The Buzz Around Microblading

What is Eyebrow Microblading?

Microblading is so new to the beauty industry that many people are still unaware that such a procedure as this exists.

It is a hand tattoo on the brow bone that creates a 3D effect. It gives the illusion that a person has fuller hair than beforehand, or that they’ve grown hair where they’ve had none. It defines the brows giving them an updated and attractive but very natural appearance. On Point Permanent Cosmetics offer natural looking brows to women of all ages. This procedure has dramatically changed appearances and brought youth back to many women.

On Point Permanent Cosmetics by Lucy

Based in Folsom, Ca we do all permanent make-up. The latest techniques for seamless results. You may have heard of microblading; it’s a non-invasive procedure sought by beauty insiders seeking to enhance their eyebrows and overall appearance. The procedure has been revolutionary for individuals with thin or faint eyebrows. Microshading is a cosmetic tattoo, which by no means is blocky, but gives the brow a fresh powdered makeup effect. Lash Enhancements involves tattooing a line of pigment in the lash line, think of it as a light permanent eyeliner with a more natural finish. Lip blush is a super natural lip tint. Heals to a soft youthful blush. Also traditional techniques of lips and liner can be applied. I launched my business to meet the demand for the hottest new makeup procedures in the beauty industry.

"From the shape to the color, everything is amazing. I feel so much more confident, who knew eyebrow can change everything!

Cassie Smart-Ruiz

Lucy is the best, I get compliments on my eyebrows all the time and I love low maintenance. I had little to no hair on my eyebrows and had to draw it in everyday. The procedure was done in 2.5 hours.

"I'm so happy with my eyebrows, Lucy is an artist. I can't wait for her to do my eyeliner too. Great Job!"

How Many Touch Ups Will You Need?

After your initial procedure, there is a follow-up appointment 6-12 weeks later. This appointment is to perfect your permanent makeup and make any necessary changes. The color will soften up to 50%.

At the touch up we can use a darker pigment if you want to go any darker or lighter if that is what you prefer.

Is Microblading or Permanent Cosmetics for You?

Microblading is for men and women of all ages who have thinning eyebrows. Permanent Cosmetics is also for anyone who wants to change their look with full natural looking brows or a freshly applied makeup appearance. Imagine having the ability to go to the beach or pool and not have to worry about whether your makeup will be washed away with the current or smudged off by the heat. Waking up and feeling put together.

Permanent makeup isn’t going to replace glam night when you want that extra pow! It lets you feel put together all the time, from the moment you wake,or get out of the shower.

How Long is the Healing Process?

Every person is different, and their skin is unique to who they are. The healing process can be different for everyone, but typically seven to ten days after your appointment you will go through a light peeling phase. This peeling phase is similar to a peel after a sunburn, very light.

After your procedure you may experience some swelling, (more for eyeliner and lips); brows are minimal. Some clients swell more than others, depending on how their skin responds to the treatment, (everyone is different).

The first 72 hours after your appointment are the most crucial. We provide a healing ointment that speeds up the healing process and takes away the slight discomfort after the procedure. We look forward to discussing all aspects of the healing at the time of your appointment.

What Tools is Used?

On Point Permanent Cosmetics is proud to use the highest quality equipment, from blades to machines. For microblading our hand tool has tiny microneedles that form a blade. This blade is used to create beautiful hair-like strokes underneath the surface of the skin. By using a hand tool as opposed to a machine, our artist is able to control each crisp stroke and design a beautiful brow. For eyeliner, lips and powder brows the machine is specially designed for permanent cosmetic application for a soft cosmetic look.

Does it Hurt?

Each person has a different pain tolerance, but it is our goal to keep all clients comfortable. We use multiple topical anesthetics, (numbing agents), that sits on the skin 25 minutes prior to beginning, as well as a gel that can be applied after the skin has been opened.

What are the Dangers?

Permanent Makeup should only be done by a certified and experienced professional. In a safe and clean environment. These procedures take an investment of time to master. Make sure you are comfortable with your artist and trust her with your face.

We use the highest quality of products and pigments that have proven to be the best in the industry, allowing great results. We use disposable hand tools and cartridges to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. Our Artist will thoroughly explain the aftercare procedures so you get the best results from your permanent makeup procedure.

How Long Does the Procedure take?

The procedures typically lasts anywhere between 2-3 hours.

Before beginning Lucy maps out the brows, organically based on every clients individual bone structure, placing the outline for eyeliner or lips desired aesthetic.

She takes her time crafting the placement of pigment, to ensure the best equal saturation throughout the procedure area.

All skin is different. Sometimes she will go over each area twice for individuals with normal healthy skin, and other times we go over each area three to five times for individuals with tough, thick skin.

Why are Touch-Ups Required?

During the healing process, your procedure will lose about 50% of the color. Brows will also shrink by 20%. Many time women are too scared to go too dark with the pigment and end up losing most of the color by the end of the four weeks. Also, many women are afraid of going too thick and bold. This is why touch-ups are required. We can perfect your permanent makeup in any way necessary. It’s important to feel good during the healing process, so always go lighter and softer, we can also add to it.  You won’t see the “final” result until four weeks after the touch-up.

All permanent cosmetics procedures require touch ups 6 weeks after initial appointment.

What NOT to do After a Procedure.

Please refrain from the following things throughout the healing process:

  • Do not sweat profusely for at least ten days because it can cause the pigmentation to fade
  • Do not play sports or any other strenuous activity that causes you to sweat
  • Do not visit the swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, or Jacuzzi
  • Avoid the tanning salon for 10 days after the procedure.
  • Limit sun exposure
  • Do not tan for at least ten days after the procedure
  • Do not receive a laser treatment, facial peel, or a chemical treatment
  • Do not apply creams an ointments, containing Retin-A or Glycolic, on your face and neck
  • Do not pick, peel, or scratch your eyebrows because it can cause scarring and loss of pigment
  • Try to avoid spicy food. This can cause you to sweat, which should be avoided.
  • Prior to having your eyebrows microbladed, avoid drinking alcohol. After the procedure, limit alcohol use and smoking. This can prevent a smooth healing.
  • For the first 72 hours treat your eyebrows as an open wound. Try not to touch them with your hands, instead use a cotton-tipped swab.
